Alt-Right Trump- and gun-loving conspiracy nut puts the MAD in Maddison

Well, for all you you who isn't familiar with the ridiculous Alt-Right conspiracy theory known as "#PizzaGate" (stupid hashtags), here is a brief summary by Vox:

"The totally false conspiracy theory claims that Hillary Clinton and her former campaign manager, John Podesta, ran a child sex ring at a pizzeria in DC, Comet Ping Pong. Over the past few weeks, Donald Trump supporters and white supremacists on social media have pushed the conspiracy theory — leading to headlines like “Pizzagate: How 4Chan Uncovered the Sick World of Washington’s Occult Elite” on fake news websites."

"Like many ridiculous things on the internet, Pizzagate appears to have begun on the troll haven and message board 4chan. After Podesta’s emails were hacked (likely by Russian agents) and WikiLeaks published them, 4chan users in October found emails between Podesta and Alefantis about a Clinton fundraiser that happened early in the campaign.

From there, people began speculating without any evidence that the restaurant was part of a broader child trafficking ring run by the Democratic Party — a popular but entirely false conspiracy theory on the fringes of conservative media. And the conspiracy theories jumped over to Reddit, where the popular Trump subreddit r/The_Donald championed it; Twitter, where pro-Trump tweeters have continued to promote it; and Facebook, where fake news outlets have written and shared articles about it."

As the story goes, this nut named Edgar Maddison Welch walks into the pizza joint with a loaded assault rifle and a determination of rescuing these non-existent child sex slaves and fires a warning shot. After searching the pizza parlor for nearly an hour, he found absolutely no evidence at all of this non-existent pedo ring. No underground tunnels (What is this? The McMartin Trial?), no kids chained up in meat lockers, no ANYTHING.

PizzaGate has been proven to be fake, apparently confirmed by Welch himself by his actions. Yet, the Alt-Right conspiracy nutballs are already claiming this asshat is a "crisis actor," but honestly, how much roof does on need to prove something is false?

Here are more details about Welch, according to Heavy.com:

  1. His father Harry was elected President of the North Carolina Crime Stoppers Association (two terms). Served as Executive Director for Protect-A-Child, a national, non-profit organization to prevent abuse and abduction of children. Appointed by Governor Jim Martin to the Governor’s Commission on Child Victimization.” (In other words, a victim industry blowhard)
  2. Edgar has been a registered Republican since 2006;
  3. On his Facebook page, Welch “likes” conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, and his website, Infowars, and has posted anti-Muslim videos in the past.In 2014, Welch shared a Youtube video on his Facebook page titled “Bible prophecy and the Coming Muslim anti-Christ,” writing, “great, please watch,” along with two quotes from the Bible. In 2015, he shared a video called “A Message to President Obama from a former Muslim,” in which a man explains that ISIS is representative of the entire Muslim religion, and says stopping Islam will stop terrorism. He also shared several videos and posts about how the “end of times” is coming soon.
  4. Welch has a criminal record, including a conviction for driving under the influence in 2013, which led to a sentence of 60 days in jail, according to court records. He was previously convicted in 2007 of driving after consuming alcohol while under 21. He is also under investigation for an incident involving Welch hitting a pedestrian in October.
  5. One of his guns confiscated after his arrest was unlicensed.

If it is on the Internet it MUST be true, right? It seems to be a common thread among vigilante scumbags, be it Jessica Lessley or Laura Ahearn. Look, if you think 4chan is a website for truthful information, then you are likely clinically braindead. I expect things to get worse as the Alt-Right gains power under Trump. I know I'm already going to piss off Trumpophiles so I'll just leave this from soon-to-be National Insecurity Advisor Gen. Flynn and his spawn. Like father, like son...

Holy Shit now Canada is facing their own edition of Pizzagate!

    http://globalnews.ca/news/3107985/alberta-creep-catchers-member-charged-with-criminal-harassment/

What the hell is this?? I think Russia is trying to incite vigilante crimes all over the world here.

A member of the vigilante group Creep Catchers is facing charges of harassment and mischief after he accosted a Lacombe man, police say.

Lacombe police charged a 37-year-old Red Deer man Sunday after investigating a series of conversations between the suspect and a man in his 20s on social media.

Acting Police Chief Lorne Blumhagen said the suspect used false pretences to convince the complainant to meet in person in Lacombe, about 125 kilometres south of Edmonton.

The suspect accused the man of trying to communicate with someone online for sexual purposes.

Blumhagen said the man was trying to walk away, but was impeded by the suspect who made comments of a "threatening nature."

The suspect then posted a Facebook video of himself accosting the man.

Creep Catchers is a vigilante group that aims to expose people it believes are targeting children for sexual activity.

Blumhagen said vigilante-type tactics are not only dangerous but "irresponsible because they're making assumptions based on very little information.

"They suspect somebody might be committing an illegal act," he said. "However, they aren't advising police or giving police the opportunity to investigate what claims they may have."

The accused is due in provincial court in Red Deer on Friday.

Karma got Alex Jones and also I rather have Bill O'Reilly than Infowars oddly enough. there is a higher chance that O'Reilly's victims will forgive him first than Edgar Welch forgiving Alex Jones. Shit Alex Jones has more scandals in 1 year than what Bill O'Reilly had in his life.

But Austin-based online show host Alex Jones might have damaged his own career forever.

Some of O’Reilly’s less-disgusted fans may forgive him over five sexual harassment settlements, capping a career of loutish, self-indulgent behavior that inspired Stephen Colbert’s satirical “Colbert Report.”

But at $55 a year, Jones’ pay-video viewers are less likely to forgive being fooled after his lawyer told a custody hearing Jones is a “performance artist” and “playing a character.”

“The number one benefit for a host is being somebody real to viewers, somebody who’s like ‘what you see is what you get,’ ” said Aaron Chimbel, an associate professor in the Bob Schieffer College of Communication at Texas Christian University.

“If you say, ‘I’m the person who’s telling you the truth,’ and then say, ‘Oh, that’s not really me’ — you lose credibility.”

Jones, 43, is an Austin character who started with a blustery community cable TV show about a global New World Order conspiracy. He has taken to Facebook and video this week to claim that he really believes what he says, just delivers it with drama, humor and satire.

The damage was done. His own attorney, Randall Wilhite, said judging Jones by his show is like judging Jack Nicholson for playing the Joker in “Batman.”

HE’S PLAYING A CHARACTER. HE IS A PERFORMANCE ARTIST.
Lawyer Randall Wilhite on his own client, Alex Jones, at a pre-trial hearing for a custody trial

I’ve considered Jones only an entertainer for a long time. But in a new book about the 2016 election, President Donald Trump’s conspiracy-loving pal Roger Stone called Jones the campaign’s “secret weapon.”

If anyone took Jones seriously, they probably won’t after a week of headlines such as “Jones says persona not a trick” (Reuters) or “Is Alex Jones an extreme conspiracy theorist or a giant troll?” (Los Angeles Times).

On the stand this week, Jones has talked himself deeper into pop-culture oblivion, saying he couldn’t remember details about his children because “I had a big bowl of chili for lunch” and that he smokes marijuana to “monitor its strength.”

O’Reilly, to his good fortune, is on a now-extended vacation.

O’Reilly’s departure from Fox News shows that “even if you appeal to a demographic that is anti-PC, or frustrated with it, you can only go so far,” Chimbel said.

6.6 million viewers monthly watch Alex Jones’ videos or read his website.
It’s one thing to breach ethics, like former “NBC Nightly News” anchor Brian Williams, and another to cost your company $13 million in sexual harassment lawsuits.

“A corporation has to take that seriously,” Chimbel said: “In his mind, he may be just from a different time. But an employer has to look at risk.”

Broadcaster Alex Jones tears up, says ex-wife's lawyer has 'no decency, zero'

Man opens fire at DC pizzeria over fake news story
And don’t read anything political into their demise. Another Jones will emerge for conspiracy hobbyists, and Fox has plenty of new O’Reillys.

      http://www.statesman.com/news/state--regional-govt--politics/verdict-wife-alex-jones-wins-joint-custody-after-bitter-trial/gsbA2MrX3pSmoEsexz7oeL/

Update Alex Jones Yes the guy behind Chobanigate and Pizzagate loses custody of his kids.

11:30 p.m. update: After nine hours of deliberation in the child custody trial involving internet broadcaster Alex Jones, a Travis County jury gave his ex-wife, Kelly Jones, a victory, awarding her joint custody with the right to have their three children make their primary residence with her instead of her husband for the first time since their 2015 divorce.

Infowars.com founder Alex Jones will share joint custody, which means that he will have visitation rights. But Kelly Jones and her lawyers want to begin the new arrangement with a period of time in which the children live exclusively with her while they adjust to the new situation, followed by increased visitation with their father.

She also wants the family involved in a program for undoing parental alienation, the phenomenon in which one parent turns the children against another parent, which she and her lawyers argued was what happened to her when the children began living with her ex-husband. She said during the trial she is thinking of writing a book about it.

“I am so grateful to God that he has kept me and my family strong through this,” Kelly Jones said after the verdict. “I just pray that from what’s happened with my family people can really understand what parental alienation syndrome is and get an awareness of it and we can stop this from happening in the future.”

When state District Judge Orlinda Naranjo read the verdict from the bench in the third-floor courtroom at the Travis County Courthouse, Kelly Jones sat quietly and dabbed her eyes with a Kleenex. Alex Jones stared at the judge. His mien was serious but he otherwise betrayed no emotion, a rarity for a man whose relentless expressiveness, even in silence, was an issue during the trial.

He had predicted during the trial that a verdict like this would lead his son to run away from home.

As the last juror left, unlocking his bicycle from a bike rack outside the courthouse for the ride home on the cooly comfortable night, he said the jurors thought both Joneses were good parents - “that’s why we deliberated so long.”

The juror, who did not identify himself, said that Infowars did not figure in the verdict.

“It was not dispositive,” he said.

10:20 update: In a stunning verdict, a Travis County jury has awarded Kelly Jones, the ex-wife of Alex Jones, joint conservatorship of their three children with the power to decide where the children will live. That means that the three children, age 9, 12 and 14, who have been living almost exclusively with Alex Jones, will now live with Kelly Jones.

Alex Jones will have visitation, but details have yet to be worked out.

Kelly Jones and her lawyers wanted a period of time in which he would have very limited if any access to the children while she starts the new routine and they make a break from what Kelly Jones’ attorneys considered the “parental alienation” of the children from their mother during the time they lived with their father.

Update on Chobanigate. Alex Jones is fucking insane he files 2 false rape allegations against CEO's of companies when he himself has harassed more women than even the entire staff of Fox News.

"I am fine with criticism. But there's a line. We're living in a civil society," Ulukaya, a TIME 100 member and business leader, said of the right-wing firebrand's channels during the TIME 100 Gala on Tuesday.
Chobani filed a defamation lawsuit in district court against Jones on Monday, weeks after Jones' network alleged that Chobani was "importing migrant rapists," drawing a false connection between Chobani's employment of refugees and a Twin Falls sexual assault case.
Ulukaya said there was "no other option than letting the courts decide," because "it's important we keep the ethics of reporting." Ulukaya has been vocal about his work toward helping migrants, employing at least 300 refugees at his Chobani factory in Twin Falls Idaho.Jones' YouTube channel published a video titled "MSM Covers for Globalists' Refugee Import Program After Child Rape Case" on April 11, and its Twitter page shared the headline "Idaho Yogurt Maker Caught Importing Migrant Rapists." Jones responded to the lawsuit Tuesday in a YouTube video, saying without evidence that billionaire George Soros was behind the lawsuit, according to the Associated Press.

    Pizzagate on steroids

A 37-year-old Red Deer man who allegedly posted false allegations against another man on a website targeting sexual predators has a new court date.

Police say a suspect had been communicating with his alleged victim for three months on a social website. When the victim attempted to block further communication, the suspect continued accessing the victim’s network.

Last month, the suspect allegedly used false pretenses to convince the victim to meet in person in Lacombe. Once there, the victim had a cellphone shoved in his face, say police.

He was allegedly told by a hoodie-wearing male that he was being recorded and has been busted by “Creep Catchers,” a website set up to expose alleged predators who use the Internet to lure minors.

A video making false allegations against the victim was later posted to Red Deer’s Creep Catchers Facebook page. It was later removed.

Karl Young, who has been charged with criminal harassment and mischief, is next due in court on Wednesday.

It lingers in the fear that neighborhood residents continue to feel months after a gunman — who came from North Carolina to “self-investigate” the situation — opened fire there in December.

And it lingers in the continuing, if evidence-free, belief of gullible people about what was claimed to be happening there — not only that the restaurant was the site of sex trafficking but that Hillary Clinton and her presidential-campaign chairman, John Podesta, were deeply involved.

    ADVERTISING

“I made comments about Mr. Alefantis that in hindsight I regret and for which I apologize to him,” said Jones in a six-minute video released last week, titled “A Note to Our Listening, Viewing and Reading Audiences Concerning Pizzagate Coverage.”

“We relied on third-party accounts of alleged activities and conduct at the restaurant,” Jones said. “We also relied on accounts of reporters who are no longer with us.”

This has about the same level of sincerity as the downcast “sorry” muttered by a 6-year-old after kicking his brother while Dad glowers over him with a yardstick in hand.

Jones, of course, is a great favorite of President Trump, who was interviewed on his radio show last year. Trump has cited as fact some of Jones’s outlandish ideas — for example, that the news media has covered up terrorism by Islamist extremists — and has complimented his “amazing reputation.”

No surprise, then, that Jones, who at best can be called a conspiracy theorist and at worst a cynical wacko, recently bragged about his ability to get White House press credentials, should he want them. Trump’s crony, the political trickster Roger Stone, said he thinks that’s a good idea.

Alex Jones: The louder he yells, it seems the more people listen Embed Share Play Video3:21
Alex Jones was a powerful underground voice for the alternative conservative media, but he became a more mainstream figure in December 2015, when Donald Trump, then a Republican presidential candidate, spent 30 minutes on Jones's radio program, "Info Wars." (Erin Patrick O'Connor, Manuel Roig-Franzia/The Washington Post)
If Jones were really interested in cleaning up the bilge he spreads, he wouldn’t be starting now.

He would have recanted the disgusting claim that schoolchildren were not gunned down in Newtown, Conn., in 2012 and that the Sandy Hook Elementary School massacre was a government-run hoax to take away gun rights.

He would have taken back claims that fluoridated water is a government plot to control your mind.

He would have done penance for spreading the lies that 9/11 was an inside job and that Barack Obama is not a U.S. citizen.

But none of those lies seem to have merited a second thought.

As my colleague Paul Farhi reported over the weekend, the timing of Jones’s apology suggests he was concerned about a potential lawsuit, since his remorse came after he received a letter from Alefantis’s lawyer last month.

Farhi wrote: “Under Texas law, the Austin-based Jones had to retract or apologize for the stories by Friday — one full month after receiving Alefantis’s letter — to avoid exposing Infowars to punitive damages in a libel suit.” And Friday, indeed, was the very day that Jones’s apology video was aired.

Friday was also the day that the Comet Ping Pong gunman, Edgar Welch, pleaded guilty to assault and weapons charges.

Now the leader of Comet Ping-Pong comes out and speaks for the first time now that Alex Jones is on Trial for a custody dispute.

Sadly, many people who don’t know me or my neighborhood cling to an absurd lie: that I and political figures including Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton and her campaign chairman, John Podesta, run a child-slavery ring out of Comet’s basement.

Last month, one of those people, Edgar Maddison Welch, pleaded guilty to local and federal charges stemming from the day last year when he showed up at my pizza shop wielding an assault rifle and a .38-caliber handgun. He was following calls by conspiracy theorists for a “self-investigation” of the concocted sex ring.

What he discovered was happy families eating lunch. While my brave staff swiftly evacuated customers, Welch walked through the building undeterred, shot a computer closet, then laid down his weapons and surrendered to the police in the middle of Connecticut Avenue. He will remain in prison for years.

I’m often asked how this happened. It started in October when WikiLeaks released Podesta’s hacked emails. Podesta and his brother, Tony, are Comet fans, and in these emails I was invited to cook for a Clinton fundraiser.

Anti-Clinton conspiracy theorists and online trolls congregating on Reddit and 4chan, decided that the words “pizza” and “cheese” in these emails were code for pedophilia.

Online, we were labeled as criminals – or worse. They posted our pictures, links to personal social media, even our home addresses. Our community of food runners, hosts, bussers, waiters, customers, artists we display, bands that performed, my godchildren, surrounding businesses and my mother all were harassed by self-proclaimed “investigators.”

After Welch surrendered to the D.C. police with a declaration that “the intel on this wasn’t 100 percent,” we thought truth would prevail. But some online trolls labeled the incident a “false flag,” insisting Welch had been hired by Clinton to distract from her crimes. A few weeks ago, when my best friend and former partner suffered a heart attack, these same trolls said it was retribution.

Jones attempted to apologize with a belated and half-hearted retraction, but the online community of “investigators” labeled Jones a shill. Unsurprisingly, Jones’ platform, InfoWars, continues to broadcast lies about me and Comet.

Ten years ago, we opened Comet to be a place for people to gather, eat, drink and play. And I sometimes wondered what would happen if something bad happened to us. Where would my community be?

Hours after the gunman was arrested, they called to ask if they could come for dinner. “We’re closed,” I said. “Crime scene.” Their response? “OK, we’ll come tomorrow.”

They came out in droves when we reopened. And then, two months later, on inauguration weekend, demonstrators came to Comet with signs reading “GOT AIDS YET?” and a megaphone to call me a “faggot” and “pedophile” and our neighborhood Sodom and Gomorrah.

Our community peacefully walked out of Comet to confront the protesters. And by the light of our vintage neon sign and the flashing of the arriving police cars, my staff, our neighbors, our community, pointed the restaurant’s speakers toward the hate, turned the volume as high as it would go, blasted Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” and danced the bigots away.

  11. Alex Jones is in a New scandal! a child custody battle and this scandal will be more dramatic than even Bill O'Reilly and Roger Ailes combined.

    http://www.newsday.com/opinion/columnists/lane-filler/will-the-real-alex-jones-please-stand-up-1.13488481

So is radio and internet star Alex Jones, beloved by President Donald Trump and his “Make America great again” supporters, telling the truth when he says he was lying about telling truths that were a pack of lies? Or is he lying when he claims he was lying about telling the truth, which actually was a pack of lies?

It’s a crazy world when the boy who cried “fake news” wolf the loudest claims he was faking, and his followers probably won’t want to believe him.

Jones is a Texas media star with InfoWars, which includes radio shows on 160 stations, live streams on Facebook and YouTube, tweetstorms, books and movies. He’s a rich blowhard who has perfected apoplectic ferocity so out of whack that it’s way too far out to be considered part of the political continuum. He’s more far-Jupiter than far-right. He makes the old Glenn Beck sound like George Pataki.

Jones has said the federal government lines juice boxes with estrogen to turn boys gay, controls the weather, and faked the Boston Marathon bombing and the massacre at Sandy Hook Elementary School to justify taking people’s guns. Jones popularized “Hillary for prison” as an idea and a mantra. He rarely spouts a true thing. And he is one of the people who won Trump the election.

But now Jones has a problem. He is arguing in a Texas courtroom that he ought to have custody of his three children, ages 9, 12 and 14. His daily public behavior for the past 20 years, though, suggests it might make more sense to stuff raw chickens in the kids’ mouths and hire a couple of crocodiles to babysit than it does to turn their parenting over to him.

“He’s not a stable person,” his ex-wife, Kelly Jones, said at a recent hearing. “He says he wants to break Alec Baldwin’s neck, that he wants J-Lo to get raped.”

But Jones’ lawyer told the judge who will hear the custody case that deciding whether Jones can be a good and responsible dad to the kids based on his media messages and mien would be like judging Jack Nicholson’s parenting skills based on his rendition of the Joker in “Batman.”

“He’s playing a character,” Alex Jones’ attorney, Randall Wilhite said. “He is a performance artist.”

In December 2015, Trump appeared on Jones’ radio show to thank the host for his support, saying, “Your reputation is amazing . . . I won’t let you down.”

That symbiotic relationship was fostered by a mutual connection, political trickster Roger Stone. I saw Stone and Jones appear together at a Trump rally in Cleveland during the Republican National Convention in July. The views of the Trump fans there were probably more enlightening than the babblings of Jones, who called Clinton “a foreign agent of the Communist Chinese” and riffed on “the globalist program of enslavement,” and Stone, who implied that Clinton had Vince Foster killed.

The attendees, a few hundred, mostly weren’t nuts or mean. They didn’t think Jones and Stone were entirely correct. They just thought these performance artists, and Trump, were . . . right enough, maybe? Or a change of pace?

The world is largely as it seems. Journalists endeavor to find and tell the truth. The government, deeply flawed, is not a huge conspiracy machine. It’s not competent enough to be a huge conspiracy machine, or discreet enough to keep the secret if it were. It’s not clear whether Jones is lying, playing a liar for money or believes himself to be telling the truth.

But as his lawyer argues that Jones’ political posturing is pure performance, those swayed by it ought to pay heed.
