Nancy Mace the SC disgrace wants a nationwide ban on Registered Persons in shelters

Which one's the dog?
And to think, some folks think the incoming administration is going to benefit us in some way. I tried to warn folks about voting for Trump. This is JUST THE BEGINNING!

Nancy Mace is one of the kookiest congresspeople. In the past year, she was hit with an ethics complaint, introduced an anti-trans bathroom bill on US Capitol grounds, and made a dubious claim of being "assasulted" by a trans-activist. Her arm may be in a sling but her brain is himly up her ass.

And notice that Rep. Lauren Boebert, who is married to a Registered Person, is a co-sponsor of the bill. This next administration is going to be a nightmare.

CONGRESSWOMAN NANCY MACE INTRODUCES THE "SAFE SHELTERS ACT OF 2024" TO PROTECT WOMEN AND CHILDREN IN EMERGENCY SHELTERS

December 12, 2024

Press Release

(WASHINGTON, D.C., December 12th, 2024) - Rep. Nancy Mace, a survivor and advocate for women, is pushing the Safe Shelters Act to bar registered sex offenders from emergency shelters shared with women and children during disasters.

This bill has been cosponsored by Reps. Anna Paulina Luna, Van Drew, Weber and Boebert.

The bill builds upon policies in Florida counties like Flagler and Marion which require sex offenders to evacuate to separate facilities or dedicated shelters. Mace's bill:

  • Prohibits sex offenders from entering undesignated emergency shelters
  • Requires immediate notification to shelter operators of sex offender registration status
  • Allows FEMA to designate specific shelters for registered sex offenders
  • Establishes federal penalties for non-compliance, including potential fines and imprisonment

"In times of crisis, shelters must be sanctuaries, not hunting grounds for predators," said Rep. Nancy Mace. "Women and girls are 3.5 times more likely to experience sexual violence in chaotic, post-disaster environments. Women and children deserve safety, protection, and peace of mind. Our bill will make sure disaster shelters remain a place of refuge for those in their most vulnerable state.“

"Women and children should never face the risk of being exposed to sex offenders in emergency shelters. While providing shelter during emergencies is essential, these places should be free from other dangers," said Rep. Luna. "FEMA must establish emergency shelters that restrict access to sexual predators. I am proud to co-sponsor this critical legislation protecting vulnerable disaster victims from any potential further harm. Our emergency shelters should be safe, secure, and free from harm for all who seek refuge."

It was supposedly introduced yesterday but I see no number attached to it at this time. i'll add the addendum when it is assigned one.

ICYMI: Rep. Nancy Mace Introduces Bill to Block Sex Offenders From Entering Emergency Shelters, New York Post

December 12, 2024, Ryan King, The New York Post

Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) unveiled legislation Thursday aimed at protecting women and children from registered sex offenders in emergency shelters during natural disasters.

Mace’s legislation, the Safe Shelters Act, is modeled after the policy in Florida, where the government designates specific buildings or shelters for sex offenders to keep everyone else safe.

“Except for the purpose of seeking information on designated shelters, a covered sex offender may not enter or use the services of an undesignated shelter,” the bill stipulates.

Under the Safe Shelters Act, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) administrator would be tasked with determining suitable emergency spaces for registered sex offenders.

FEMA can look to federal buildings or prisons deemed suitable by the General Services Administration for sex offender spaces, according to the bill. The congresswoman had teased the bill earlier this week.

“Why stop there? All sex offenders should be banned from all shelters also. I’ve got a bill for this,” she wrote on X in response to a post about keeping men out of women’s shelters.

Her legislation specifically applies to individuals who are in the national sex offender registry. Individuals who knowingly violate the policy could face fines and up to five years behind bars. Florida has had a similar policy in effect for almost two decades, which it pursued to handle hurricane season. Mace’s legislation pitch also modeled itself after ordinances in Florida that implement that policy.

The Palmetto State Republican, who has come forward as a rape survivor, previously introduced legislation targeting sex offenders. Back in April, for instance, she furnished an amendment to border legislation to automatically deport sex offenders. On Tuesday, the congresswoman announced that she was “physically accosted” in the Capitol complex “over my fight to protect women” and later posted a picture on social media of her donning a sling. Her office explained that she was in pain Wednesday and noted that it was limited in the details it could share due to the ongoing investigation.

The suspect, James McIntyre, 33, from Illinois, was later detained by Capitol Police in the Rayburn House Office Building over the incident. McIntyre pleaded not guilty on Wednesday to a charge for assaulting a government official. A police report later revealed Mace’s version of events, in which she alleged that the suspect “began to aggressively and in an exaggerated manner shake her arm up and down.”

“The victim stated that she attempted to pull her hand away from the subject but was held in place by the subject,” the report added.

The South Carolina Republican has introduced legislation aimed at sex offenders in the past.

Last month, Mace introduced legislation requiring transgenders to utilize the bathroom in federal buildings that correspond with their biological sex at birth.

She had also backed a similar measure that was limited to the Capitol Complex, which preempted Rep.-elect Sarah McBride (D-Del.) getting sworn into Congress next month.

McBride is the first openly transgender lawmaker elected to the House of Representatives.

House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) later announced a policy restricting transgender women from utilizing bathrooms intended for biological women.

Mace later had a call with President-elect Donald Trump over the alleged altercation in the Capitol complex on Tuesday.

“Thank you, Mr. President, for checking in on me and for standing up for women. We cannot wait to see you back in the White House,” she wrote on X.

Aberdeen WA city councilman Riley Carter committed sex offense while trying to start an online vigilante group

This is Riley Carter who was elected to the Aberdeen City Council Ward 5 Position 9. I just cannot bring myself to feel sorry for Riley Carter. In addition to posting himself wearing a red Trump-style hate with the slogan "Make (P-word) Afraid Again," Riley Carter harassed and disparaged homeless persons on a regular basis, including referring to them as "tweakers" and the "walking dead."

But it gets crazier. Carter was trying to start an onlibe vigilante group he called, "Harbor Watchdogs LLC" and had even posted a GoFundMe to raise money for it. (No donations were made to the GoFundMe effort.)

On a related note, this clown bought the hat from one of a number of convicted criminals who spend an awful lot of time embellishing their prison lives on social media. This online seller glorifies biker gangs online and has been accused of lying about his time in prison. This online seller is apparently is upset about Riley's arrest while wearing a hat from his store (confirmed by seeing his online store logo on the hat), presumably because we all know that those who scream loudest about this issue tend to have something to hide.

ABERDEEN, Wash. — The Aberdeen City Council member charged with child rape resigned from jail, City Manager Ruth Clemens confirmed to KING 5.

Riley Carter signed a letter of resignation on Friday, Aug. 2, just a few days after his arrest. Detectives previously said Carter confessed to detectives, admitting he sexually assaulted a child known to him over the past two years.

Carter was arrested the night of Tuesday, July 30. According to documents filed in court Wednesday, July 31, Carter told detectives he needed help and expressed remorse toward his victim. Detectives said the victim is a child under the age of 12.

Grays Harbor Judge Vini Samuel ordered Carter held on $100,000 bail after charging Carter with one count of rape of a child.

Voters elected Carter to the Aberdeen City Council in December of 2023.

Controversial Missouri Secretary of State candidate Valentina Gomez flops hard in election bid, and it is glorious

This is Valentina Gomez, a Colombian immigrant who hates immigrants, amd one of eight candidates for Missouri Secretary of State. Last night, she hosted what she adverised on Twitter as a "pedophile catch party," working with racist, anti-vax, right-wing conspiracy loon, and vigilante thug Alex Rosen. (This alleged arrest, according to the thug, occurred in Central Iowa, so Gomez wasn't even IN Missouri the night of the election.) Gomez essentially ran on a platform of pure hatred, and it gained her a lot of notoriety, including a book burning stunt.

It is funny how even a state that wanted to place teachers who use gender-affirming pronouns for trans kids on the state sex offense registry has rejected her. She was soundly defeated in the primary.

The most homophobic GOP candidate of the year loses her primary & it was brutal

She didn't win. She didn't get second place. She didn't get third place. She didn't....

By Alex Bollinger Wednesday, August 7, 2024

Valentina Gomez, who ran in the GOP primary for Missouri Secretary of State, built her campaign around her hatred of LGBTQ+ people. She made “Don’t be weak and gay” a slogan of her campaign, she called LGBTQ+ people “groomers” and “pedophiles” repeatedly, she burned LGBTQ+ books with a flamethrower, and she said anti-LGBTQ+ slurs in videos posted to social media.

And she just came in sixth place in her primary election out of eight candidates.

With 99% of votes counted this morning, the Kansas City Star reports that Gomez got 47,931 votes – or just 7.5% – in the primary yesterday, putting her behind five other candidates. State Sen. Denny Hoskins (R) got 24.4% of the vote and has been declared the winner by the AP.

In a video posted after the polls closed but before the votes were counted, Gomez claimed that her campaign had “locked up pedophiles, saved children, stood up to tyrants and corrupt politicians, and I would do it 1000 times again.”

“God qualifies the called,” she said. She has not posted a message since the election was called.

social media where she said: “In America, you can be anything you want. So don’t be weak and gay. Stay f**king hard.” She had already drawn some headlines a couple months prior with her flamethrower stunt.

She grew increasingly unhinged as she got closer to the primary, calling LGBTQ+ people “pedophiles” regularly. She even made a video this past week calling LGBTQ+ people “fa***ts” and claiming that unnamed people tried to poison her dogs, before calling Vice President Kamala Harris “an Indian hoe” and saying that Democrats are all “gay, vaccinated, and cannot reproduce.”

While she got more attention from national media outlets than all of her competitors combined, that didn’t translate into votes in the primary.

But that wasn’t the only loss she suffered this year. Her campaign, she claimed, caused her to lose her job with Purina dog food. Her brother also lost his job with the Democratic mayor of Jersey City, New Jersey, when he donated $1250 to her campaign and then refused to say he disagreed with her stances on LGBTQ+ people.

FloriDUH Republican Rep Anna Paulina Luna(-tic) wants to pass a federal death penalty statute for crimes not involving murder

The Luna-Tic isn't just a gun nut, she's plain nuts
Typical Floridiot!

There is something that has been lost in the MAGAt push to challenge the 2008 Kennedy fv Louisiana ruling, and reinstate the death penalty for offenses not involving murder.

Here are the words of Antonin Scalia, far from being a liberal justice, wrote the statement that struck down an immediate appeal following a showing there had been a military statute in place punishing certain non-murder offenses with death"

"I am voting against the petition for rehearing because the views of the American people on the death penalty for child rape were, to tell the truth, irrelevant to the majority’s decision in this case. The majority opinion, after an unpersuasive attempt to show that a consensus against the penalty existed, in the end came down to this: “[T]he Constitution contemplates that in the end our own judgment will be brought to bear on the question of the acceptability of the death penalty under the Eighth Amendment.” Ante, at ___ (slip op., at 24). Of course the Constitution contemplates no such thing; the proposed Eighth Amendment would have been laughed to scorn if it had read “no criminal penalty shall be imposed which the Supreme Court deems unacceptable.” But that is what the majority opinion said, and there is no reason to believe that absence of a national consensus would provoke second thoughts."

In other words, these idiots pushing for the death penalty are challenging a ruling even the conservative wing said no to doing when they had the chance.

Besides, if this Luna-tic were to succeed in passing this terrible legislation, then her hero Trump should be first to be executed to prove she is serious about this and not just trying to get cheap publicity.

Convicted pedophiles could face much darker future with GOP-backed bill: 'Can't rehabilitate a predator'

Rep. Luna will also introduce a bill increasing penalties against rapists

By Emma Colton Fox News

Published April 9, 2024 1:25pm EDT

Florida Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna is slated to introduce a bill this week that would raise the federal minimum for sexual abusers of children to the death penalty or life in prison, the congresswoman told Fox News Digital in an exclusive interview.

"One of my big platforms has been: how do you combat child trafficking, just with everything happening in our country? And it seems like there's been this obviously massive issue here in the states with consumption of whether it's child pornography and/or just attacks really on kids. And in honor of sexual assault prevention month, we actually want to introduce legislation," Luna told Fox News Digital in a phone interview this week.

Called the "No Repeat Child Sex Offenders Act," the bill would amend a U.S. code that states anyone who "knowingly transports any individual in interstate or foreign commerce" to engage in prostitution or sexual activity "shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both."

The bill would strike the language that an offender be "imprisoned not more than 10 years, or both," and replace it with stronger penalties: "and punished by death or imprisoned for life."

"It's absurd to me, not only as a new mom, but also if you just look at some of the federal statutes, that there's not more strict punishments for people that are doing this," Luna said.

The Florida congresswoman added that she, similar to others across the nation, believe child predators cannot be rehabilitated, and would reoffend when back on the streets.

"I have the firm belief, which I think many of my colleagues also hold, that you can't rehabilitate a predator. And so we have to increase the federal minimums. And as you see, it's pretty simple text. It's maybe a page and a half, but it will increase the federal minimums to death penalty or life in prison," Luna said.

Luna’s bills come as some states and cities, such as in California or New York, have seen an increase in prostitution in broad daylight on bustling streets. Experts have previously told Fox News Digital that the immigration crisis and lax laws have likely caused the spike in brazen prostitution, which also often includes human trafficking and the trafficking of children. Luna said her bill raising the penalties against child sexual assault includes so-called "Johns" who hire underage girls.

"Anyone who is even going to consider exploiting someone like this – and you can't tell me that they don't know that these people are trafficked or that they don't know that that's a young child – but the fact is, is that, if you're knowingly doing this, you have to be held accountable," she said.

"It's pretty black and white," she said.

Luna compared rape to murder, saying the assault of a child destroys the victim's life, as well as the lives of family members. She’s hopeful Democrats will join her in passing the bill, calling it a nonpartisan effort, though some Democrats might not agree with the legislation due to opposition to the death penalty.

"I think that this does speak to a deeper issue, in that, whether it's issues of rape or molestation that, you know, it destroys people's lives, and it's something that they carry with them for the rest of the time that they're adults. And so it can impact people, and we should be thinking of this very seriously," she said.

Luna will introduce the bills Thursday in the House.

"I think that if you're really about protecting children… you have to have strict laws. And that's exactly why we've introduced it."

Extremist KY State Senator Lindsey Tichenor denies Registered Persons the right to anonymous speech

KY State Sen. Lindsey Tichenor, standing
in front of a place she shouldn't be
Kuntyucky State Senator Lindsey Tichenor sponsored a bill that prohibits Persons Forced to Register from using an anonymous name on social media. Personally, I have no issue using my real name online, but with it comes the occasional death threat, nasty comment, and even denial of services from certain social media outlets.

There are a few things I dislike about my current state of residence (Nebraska), but we don't have to turn over Internet identifiers here because the courts deemed that unconstitutional.

Tichenor is attempting to chill free speech in a roundabout way. By requiring Persons Forced to Register to use their real names on social media, she is opening them up to harassment by vigilante scumbags. Furthermore, some social media outlets like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok have policies prohibiting Registrants from using the platform, so using real names will deny them the right to speak out against these laws with the protection of anonymity. This is typical fascism from the party of Trump.

(LEX 18) — The Kentucky Senate passed Bill 249, which would require s*x offenders to use their real names on social media.

The bill was sponsored by Senator Lindsey Tichenor of the 6th district, who says the bill will "make efforts to protect the community from online s*xual p***ators."

According to officials, if violated, offenders can face a Class A misdemeanor for the first offense and a Class D felony for subsequent violations.

Democratic Alabama Representative Juandalynn Givan uses castration of Registered Persons law as a prop for abortion battle

I'm very disappointed by Alabama State Rep. Juandalynn Givan. On Wed. Feb. 27, 2013, the Alabama House Judiciary Committee held a public hearing on HB 85, a proposed anti-clustering law. I testified in person on behalf of ReFORM-AL, and was among the half dozen there to oppose the bill.

There to promote the bill was State Rep. Kurt Wallace, who sponsored the bill, and a prosecutor in his district named CJ Robinson. Robinson in particular spouted many distorted statistics. While claiming people on the registry have a 90% recidivism rate, he admitted the registrants in his county have not been accused of a new sex crime.

Note also Robinson received far too much time to speak, while I was cut off before the two minute mark. I was disrespected by the old white men on that committee. Rep. Givan met me out in the hallway after the meeting, hugged me, thanked me for speaking out, and told me that there needs to be more folks like me speaking out and that we need to change the status quo in Momtgomery.

Fast forward to today, and this a completely different message than what was told to me in person. And to make matters worse, her bill is simply a Lauren Book-esque pro-abortion political stunt. I'm not your prop, Givan.

https://lawandcrime.com/abortion/men-need-to-be-held-to-the-same-level-of-responsibility-as-women-lawmaker-counters-abortion-ban-with-castration-law/

Alabama Democratic state Rep. Juandalynn Givan made good on her promise to increase penalties for sex offenders by introducing a bill to punish child rapists with castration.

Givan was clear that her proposal was connected to Alabama’s near-total ban on abortion. In a statement to Newsweek, Givan called the bill “simple,” and said if a young girl has been the victim of rape or incest, then a man found guilty of the crime should be forced to have a vasectomy or another form of castration.

“In recent years, the Legislature has passed laws restricting reproduction rights in the state and the penalties have been imposed only on women. It’s time for that to change,” Givan said. “The last time I checked a biology textbook, it takes a woman and a man to make a baby. Men in Alabama need to be held to the same level of responsibility as women.”

Following the United States Supreme Court’s ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, Alabama made all abortions illegal, regardless of stage of pregnancy, and with no exceptions for rape or incest. The state also took steps to give “preborn children” constitutional rights and is considering legislation that would allow women who terminate their pregnancies to be prosecuted for murder.

House Bill 80, as amended to include Givan’s suggested text, expands on a portion of Alabama’s abortion law that requires a child’s father to pay medical expenses associated with a pregnancy or an abortion if an abortion is necessary to preserve the health of a pregnant woman, unless the woman waives her right to collect the funds.

Under the revised language, a father required to pay for pregnancy or abortion expenses can petition the court for relief if he undergoes a vasectomy and submits proof to the court.

Despite Givan’s demand that it is “time for [ ] change,” castration of sex offenders is nothing new in the Yellowhammer State. The practice has been legal in Alabama for several years.

In 2019, Gov. Kay Ivey, a Republican, signed HB 379 into law, which requires anyone convicted of a sex offense against a person under age 13 to start chemical castration treatment at least a month prior to being released on parole and continue “until the court determines the treatment is no longer necessary.”

The same year, Divan challenged her legislative colleagues to do more to protect women after the story of “Jessica,” an adolescent girl who was repeatedly raped and impregnated by her uncle, made headlines. Though the man did serve prison time for a drug conviction, he sued Jessica upon his release and won the right to visit with the children.

“I think the Legislature is failing the women of Alabama,” Divan said at the time. “The justice system can do no more than what we enact into law.”

Other states, including California, Florida, Louisiana, and Wisconsin also have castration provisions in their laws. Proponents of forced castration argue it is a public safety measure; opponents say it has little value in reducing recidivism and raises serious ethical and constitutional concerns. A recent study of forced chemical castrations conducted in Korea concluded that the practice was largely ineffective in reducing recidivism.

Law&Crime reached out directly to Divan to clarify how, if at all, her proposal differs from the 2019 castration law, but did not receive a response.

Just days ago, Alabama became the first state to execute a prisoner via use of nitrogen hypoxia on Jan. 25 when it put Kenneth Eugene Smith to death for the 1988 killing of Elizabeth Sennett. Smith’s final execution occurred the third time Alabama attempted to inflict the death penalty on the 58-year-old. The Supreme Court declined to halt the execution despite Smith’s claim that the never-used method of inflicting death violated the Eighth Amendment.

Del City, OK, Ward 1 Councilman Michael Dean writes headscratching OpEd

This is a nonsensical OpEd from a nonsensical pol from a nonsensical state. So let me get this straight, jails aren't protecting the public now? A released person is going to go to a park less than a block away and kidnap someone after bonding out of jail? If that's the case, why bother doing pretrial detantion?

Oklahoma is trying too hard to compete with FloriDUH for stupidest state in the country.

Let’s not have to say NEVER AGAIN – AGAIN

Free Press Guest

This Community Voices opinion piece was submitted by Del City Ward 1 Councilman Michael Dean:

The new Oklahoma County jail should be located where it is legal to build.  This is not a not-in-my-backyard problem, it is a legal problem that will cost the county millions of dollars if ignored.

Oklahoman’s have responded to violent crimes in our state by taking a stand against violent criminals.  After children were violently attacked and kidnapped from parks, schools, and campgrounds, we were sickened and cried out “NEVER AGAIN”.  Our state government passed laws to help prevent similar crimes.

One law is known as the “Sex Offenders Registration Act”.  It was separately placed in Title 57 that deals with Prisons and Reformatories (jails).  The Sex Offenders Act applies to jails.

Title 57 Section 590.1E states that it is unlawful for an entity (County) to knowingly operate a structure (jail) in violation of this section.  Section 590A states that it is unlawful to temporarily reside within a 2000-foot radius of a School Site, Park, Playground, or a Childcare facility.  Convictions of this section result in fines and imprisonments.

County Jails incarcerate people accused of committing any type of crimes.  Most will be released on bail before they are tried.  A potential violent and or sex offender will be released from the jail at all hours, without transportation, into our park.  This sets the stage for a potentially dangerous situation to occur.

The County will be both Criminally and Civilly liable for incarcerating sex offenders on this site.  Unfortunately, it will take a victim and a jury for the county to finally understand that they are accountable under this law.  Then, we will be forced to potentially build another new jail in a correct site to resolve additional litigation.  Let’s protect our children in Trosper Park that abuts this jail site, two daycares within 500 feet, and our school children in their ballfields 700 feet away.  Let’s not have to say NEVER AGAIN – AGAIN.
