Kathianne Boniello of the New York Post is 2021's first Shiitake Award nominee

There is no Elijah Kelly listed on the NY public registry. So why does it matter he's staying in a shelter where other registered persons reside? Does she think sexual offense are contageous or we spread trade secrets like Pokemon cards? Either way, her logic is faulty and her appearance on extreme right-winger websites such as "The Ultimate Patriot" makes me suspicious of her motives.

She hides her true identity so I'm wondering if Kathianne Boniello is even her real name.

NYC rape suspect lived among sex offenders in notorious homeless shelter

A man busted in the frightening New Year’s Eve strangulation rape of a Manhattan woman lived nearby in a notorious homeless shelter, where more than two dozen registered sex offenders currently reside, a Post analysis found.

The accused rapist, Elijah Kelly, 23, was nabbed at East 30th Street and Third Ave in Kips Bay, not far from the scene of the rape — and just steps from his home at the Bellevue Men’s Shelter, which has long been a pervert dumping ground and a bane to neighbors in tony Kips Bay.

In addition to Kelly, who faces a host of charges in the alleged attack, including rape, robbery, felony assault and strangulation, current shelter residents include such fiends as a David Bradley, 35, who pimped out a 23-year-old woman he knew; convicted rapist Johnny Ellis, 58, a Level 3 sex offender who attacked a woman at gunpoint; and violent serial rapist Charada Turner, 47, who choked and raped three women after threatening them with a knife.

The massive, 1,000-bed facility has sheltered dozens of homeless sex offenders at a time over the years, and currently, least 26 registered sex offenders list the Bellevue Men’s Shelter as their residence, according to the state’s sex offender registry.

The city pledged to clean the place up in May, after The Post published shocking photos of homeless men, many without masks, crammed in together after being rousted out of the city’s subways as the coronavirus pandemic raged across the Big Apple. Many were left sprawled across the floors and stairwells of the East 30th Street facility.

Violence has plagued the shelter over the years. In January 2017, one shelter resident was busted for brutally stabbing the elderly owner of a nearby tailor shop, and in April 2016, Marcus Guerreio, 56, was found dead, lying in a bed in a pool of blood inside one of the shelter’s rooms.

In April 2015, ex-con Rodney Stover, 48, was living at the Bellevue Men’s Shelter when he attacked a 23-year-old woman in a bathroom stall at the Turnmill Bar on East 27th Street, just 10 minutes before his 8 p.m. curfew.

NY State Sen. John Flanigan believes allowing registered citizens voting rights "undermines" the integrity of the voting system

Of course this came from the New York Post, the paper so bad that using it to line birdcages should get you arrested for animal cruelty.

As a side note, if our election system had integrity, we would not have two presidents in the 21st century put in office despite losing the popular vote.

EXCLUSIVE: Dozens of locked up sex offenders among those granted conditional pardons by Gov. Cuomo so they can vote

ALBANY — Dozens of convicted sexual predators deemed too dangerous to be returned to the community after their release from prison are among the thousands who received conditional pardons from Gov. Cuomo, giving them the right to vote, the Daily News has learned.

At least 77 sexual predators sent to civil confinement in state psychiatric hospitals after their prison time was up are affected by the widespread pardons, various records show.

While the names of those in civil confinement are often shielded, a comparison of records showed the 77 predators shared one of two addresses — both of which happened to be upstate mental hospitals that house the civilly confined. One of the predators is Hector Aviles, 61, who was known as the “voodoo rapist.” Aviles was convicted of second-degree rape in Westchester County in 2008 after telling three of his victims — the oldest of whom was 16 — that if they participated in a sexual “ritual” with him, he could help them with their problems. If they didn’t, he said, bad things would happen to them and their families.

The rest of the list of 77 is littered with ***** and rapists and other violent sexual abusers. All were granted conditional pardons from Cuomo under a new policy designed to give back the right to vote to those who leave prison.

“This is hands-down the most egregious public policy misstep Andrew Cuomo has made in his eight years as governor, and it shows that he will do virtually anything for a few extra votes,” said Senate Majority Leader John Flanagan (R-Suffolk County).

“This policy rewards the worst of the worst sexual predators and lowlifes in our society and undermines the integrity of our voting system in every way, shape and form,” Flanagan added.

The governor announced in May that more than 24,000 parolees in the first round were issued the conditional pardons.

The Daily News reported at the time that one beneficiary was convicted cop killer Herman Bell, who was granted parole earlier this year over the objections of the law enforcement community, some state lawmakers and the slain officer’s family.

Cuomo aides have argued that the wholesale pardons are automatic once someone is paroled or released from prison and they are in good standing.

“The order was straightforward and put New York on par with Washington, D.C., and 18 other states — including such liberal bastions as Utah” that either never take away voting rights from convicts or restore them upon their release from prison, Cuomo spokesman Richard Azzopardi said with some sarcasm.

He noted that all other conditions of parole or release are upheld.

“It’s unfortunate that some are using the issue of restoring voting rights to fearmonger,” Azzopardi said.

New York Post reminds us why newspapers are dying

What shoddy, lazy reporting from the rag known more for their silly front page graphics than their actual writing, as evidenced by the following:

As if being homeless weren’t frightening enough, desperate families staying in the city’s homeless shelters must contend with a growing number of sex offenders in their midst, a shocking new report obtained by The Post reveals.

At least a dozen Level 2 and 3 offenders — those have who committed the most heinous acts — lived in family shelters this year and last, according to the report by state Sen. Jeffrey Klein (D-Bronx).

Two of the sex fiends were sent back to prison for parole violations.

In 2007, Klein found all of six in family shelters.

Among those cited in the new report are Charles Brown, convicted of raping a 9-year-old girl he was baby-sitting; Fred Scott, convicted of sodomizing an 8-year-old girl; and Angel Rios, who raped 5- and 7-year-old girls.

“Ex-cons come right out of jail and think they can hide out in here,” said a dad of two little girls who were staying with him at a Bronx shelter — the same shelter where Landell Ellis, who was convicted of sexual abuse, lived with his family.

“[Sex offenders] don’t see people; they see targets,” said the concerned father.

Legislators have refused to close legal loopholes that let convicted predators live among families with kids. The report says those seeking shelter are not even subject to criminal background checks. Nor are shelters required to check the sex-offender registry when a new family or an adult couple is admitted.

Klein promised to make a new push for a bill to keep sickos out of such shelters, saying, “It’s time that we stop sweeping this problem under the rug.’’

The Department of Homeless Services denied that Brown, Scott or Rios had been housed in family shelters. It had no immediate comment on the other nine.

“I have to look over my shoulder every second to see if someone is eyeing my daughter,” said Pedro Galarza, 48.

His 10-year-old lived with him at a shelter in Bushwick, where their neighbors included Randolph Holton, a convicted sex offender.

Homeless Services said the city's hands are tied when it comes to offering offenders shelter.

“Pursuant to court orders, Homeless Services is under legal mandate to provide shelter to all homeless individuals or eligible families regardless of their criminal background, including sex offender status," the department said in a statement.

Julio de Jesus, who manages a Brooklyn shelter, said, “What do you do with a man who was once a sex offender but now has a family that is homeless? Once they come to my facility, I can’t deny them services.’’

And privacy laws prohibit shelter officials from alerting their residents to the predators among them.
