Pauline Hanson from Australia's extremist right-wing "One Nation" party promotes chemical castration and public registries

Unfortunately, this right-wing extremism is becoming a blobal issue, not solely an American issue.

EXCLUSIVE: Pauline Hanson demands chemical castration for paedophiles and a national child sex offender register so Aussies can find out if they're living next door to a pervert

By Cameron Carpenter and Daniel Piotrowski for Daily Mail Australia

01:57 13 May 2022, updated 05:53 13 May 2022

Pauline Hanson has called for pedophiles to be chemically castrated along with tougher penalties for sex offenders.

The One Nation leader also called for the establishment of a national database of paedophiles, after responding to questions on the issue from Daily Mail Australia.

'I support chemical castration and tougher penalties for paedophiles, and the establishment of a national database of paedophiles,' she told Daily Mail Australia.

'People are very concerned about their children’s safety and they want strong laws and penalties for those convicted of paedophilia,' Ms Hanson said.

'For sex offences not involving children, I consider it appropriate for the presiding magistrate or judge to determine the appropriate penalty under the relevant law.'

However, despite Ms Hanson supporting a national paedophile register, if she does decide to introduce legislation into parliament to make it happen, she may face opposition, with state politicians opposing a similar idea backed by the coalition in 2020.

Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton announced the federal government was putting $7.8million toward a public register of convicted sex offenders in January 2019 - just before the 2019 election in May.

Under the policy, the names, aliases, photos and nature of sex offenders' crimes would be made publicly accessible, as would their general location.

Despite the federal government making the funds available for the project to happen, it was up to state governments to introduce it in their jurisdictions.

Queensland Premier Annastasia Palasczcuk's government voted down a motion supporting such a register, in a move Mr Dutton's spokeswoman slammed as 'very frustrating'.

Queensland state Labor MP Scott Stewart rubbished the idea, telling Parliament the Australian Institute of Criminology had found 'public sex offender registers do not reduce recidivism.'

Australian Feminism Extremist Clementine Ford likens a grandpa hugging his grandkid to sexual assault and #MeToo

The #MeToo Moron of the Year award was a one-year deal but if I kept it for year two, this nut would be at the top of the list. Many feminists thinklike this but Ford represents some of the more extremist feminists out there. So she just deserves an Everyday Zeroes award.

Hardline feminist Clementine Ford ties a man 'trading hugs for blowing bubbles with his granddaughter' to sexual assault and the #MeToo movement in new advice column

By HANNAH MOORE FOR DAILY MAIL AUSTRALIA

PUBLISHED: 20:47 EDT, 2 July 2019 | UPDATED: 22:28 EDT, 2 July 2019

Feminist author Clementine Ford has used her first agony aunt column to liken the actions of a grandfather desperate for affection to the #MeToo movement.

An anonymous mother wrote to Ms Ford through Yahoo, asking how she should respond to her father-in-law offering to blow bubbles for her one-year-old daughter on the condition she gave him a hug.

She said her daughter had been playing with her grandfather, who was blowing bubbles for her. When he stopped, the one-year-old asked him to keep going.

The grandfather responded by telling her: 'I'll blow you more bubbles if you give me a hug', the woman said.

'I am furious that he tried to bribe my child with something she really wanted for her affection. I said, "we don't negotiate for hugs",' the mother wrote.

'How can I best advocate for my daughter in these situations when all I want to do is come down on other people like a tonne of bricks for perpetuating a culture where women feel they owe men/people affection, that their affection is a favour that can be bought?'

Ms Ford wrote back, explaining to the woman that she wasn't overreacting, and was helping prepare her daughter to speak up if she was uncomfortable with the advances of someone older than her.

The author, who describes herself as a 'hardline feminist', said it could be 'hugely disempowering' to be a child.

Ms Ford said children who attempted to enforce boundaries with adults when it came to physical contact were often ignored.

'Is it any wonder the #metoo movement has unearthed so many stories of women manipulated or trapped into activity they don't remember consenting to but felt ill-prepared to stop?,' she wrote.

Ms Ford advised the woman to explain her choices to her family without her daughter present, and to remind them one in five women in Australia will experience sexual assault at some point in their life.

She continued to say forcing a child into hugging and kissing people with more power than them could teach them it was normal to trade physical affection for things they wanted.

The column was Ms Ford's first for Yahoo Australia, and comes just months after she spectacularly resigned as a columnist for Fairfax because of 'censorship'.

Many women praised Ms Ford's words, saying they agreed with her stance on teaching children consent early.

'Exactly on point with many conversations I have tried to have with extended family (only to be vilified for it),' one woman wrote.

'But worth every patronising comment because from two years old my oldest daughter was already asserting herself with phrases like "it's my body" and "no, I'm the boss of my body". My own little mini hardline feminist!'

But some said Ms Ford had gone too far, and not considered the complexities of intention.

'Boys often hate kissing their mothers when they reach adolescence, or younger. Are mums meant to back off because they’re now seeking unwanted physical favours?' one man asked.

'Clementine’s point is easy to make because it doesn’t take the time to consider the complexities of the intentions of the family.

'Any resistance from well meaning, loving adults who want to show and receive affection (which is now evil) is regarded as potential sexual interference in the upbringing of a child. This harms the child in the end, and why? To satisfy the worries of the hypersensitive feminist mother?'

Australian yobbo Tania Roy to create her own registry ahead of the gov't

We cover Australia on occasion here at the Shiitakes but no one from Down Under has won an award. Could this change?

https://www.9news.com.au/national/sex-offender-register-why-queensland-woman-wants-to-build-her-own-public-database-a-current-affair/6b5d477d-f89d-442f-8080-a1ec3e6fe27b

Queensland woman’s plan to ‘beat Dutton’ to building controversial sex offender registry

By A Current Affair Staff
7:43pm Jun 27, 2019

A single mother has vowed to launch her own register of child abusers and violent offenders, claiming she will beat the government to the punch.

Queensland woman Tania Roy started her Facebook page Australian Sex, DV Offenders and Child Abusers Exposed five years ago, after she became aware of a sex offender living in her community.
The page has grown to have nearly 50,000 followers, with posts scheduled for nearly every hour of the day.

"I get up every morning about 2.30am, and I start doing online searches ... and I look for offenders in the community and I structure a post," she said.

"I go through police media sites, I go through my inbox, and I do media searches."...

In the five years Ms Roy has been running the page, she's named and shamed thousands of offenders.

But she claimed she had never once named an innocent person, or faced any legal repercussions.
"I look after it like it's one of my children," she said.

"I make sure it's run properly, I make sure I don't break the law in anything that I do, and I make sure nobody else does."

Now, she is working with a web developer to launch her own online register of child abusers and violent offenders.

Prior to this year's federal election, the government committed to producing a public register of child sex offenders at a cost of $7.8 million.

At the time, Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton claimed there were "very good" examples of how such a registry could work.

It is still in the planning stages, needing new legislation to be passed, and the participation of state and territory governments.

"We're now relying on the politicians to pass a bill," Ms Roy said.

"I don't have any faith in them passing this bill whatsoever."

She told A Current Affair her register was designed to list the name and the details of offenders in the community, and their location - down to a suburb.

"Not a street, not a house, no phone numbers, nothing like that will happen," she said.

But criminologist and former police detective Terry Goldsworthy said there was no evidence public registers worked.

"The studies are clear, very clear I think, that these kind of things don't necessarily aid in community protection, reduction of offences, et cetera," he said.

"What they are good for though, is allowing politicians to beat their chest to say, 'look how hard we are on crime'."

But Ms Roy is determined, and claims hers will be up and running in a couple of months.
"I'll do it, and I'll beat Dutton to it," she said.

She said the thanks she got for her work told her people were "relieved somebody's out there fighting for them".

In a statement, Queensland Police said they had managed Queensland’s Child Protection Offender Register since 2005, and that public safety and the protection of Queenslanders remained the top priority.

Australian Senator Derryn Hinch proclaims "100,000 sex offenders" travel to Indonesia annually to rape kids. BTW, he wants to strip SOs of passports, too

Foster's could make another "How to Speak Australian" ad. In Australia, Derryn Hinch means "assclown."

This clown is talking International Megan's Law's bad idea and enhancing it by pushing to strip passports from registered citizens.

What i'd like to know is how far up his ass did he dig to pull out this stat. There is no way Australia even has 100,000 registrants. Australia's population is less than a tenth of the US population (29 MILLION people). Texas has a population of 26,000 folks and has less than a hundred thousand, and even if Australia had 100,000 registrants, they'd pretty much ALL have to be traveling to Indonesia just to match this outlandish claim.

Derryn Hinch in push to strip convicted sex offenders of their passports
Updated 5 Aug 2016, 9:59am

Newly elected Victorian Senator Derryn Hinch says he will push to strip convicted sex offenders of their passports.

Mr Hinch, who has long called for a national public register for sex offenders, read out a letter from actress Rachel Griffiths during a Melbourne Press Club address which asked for his support to help prevent child sex tourism.

"100,000 convicted sex offenders on the register ... the private register, go to Indonesia every year," he said in response to the letter.

"They're not going there for the sun, they're going there for the sons and the daughters.

"That's [an issue] that I can get involved in, and they are the sort of thing I want to do."

Mr Hinch also hinted that candidates from his Justice Party may run in upcoming state elections to campaign on law and order issues.

"Watch this space, and that's not just Victoria," he said.

But he said on principle, he would remove state governments altogether.

"I don't think we need them, we've got a federal system, we've got a federalised government," he said.

Hetty Johnston wants to be the Australian Grinch who steals Xmas

G'day, mates! We have another international offering to the Shiitake awards today. This is Hetty Johnston, an Australian victim industry spokeswoman. Victim industry advocates aren't exactly known for rational discussions on this topic, but Johnston wants to end the tradition of sitting on a mall Santa's lap out of fears of Predator Panic. Krikey!

http://www.couriermail.com.au/news/queensland/parents-warned-of-dangers-of-santas-lap/story-fnn8dlfs-1227147152740?nk=dd7a6317090300eff124dc378b4ce628

Parents warned of dangers of Santa’s lap
THE COURIER-MAIL DECEMBER 07, 2014 12:00AM SHARE

THE traditional Christmas family souvenir is under threat with parents and child protection advocates arguing Santa’s lap should be off limits to kids.

Child protection activist Hetty Johnston this week backed the concerns of Queensland parents worried the time had come to stop their children sitting on the lap of shopping centre Santas for Christmas photos.

“What we would like to see is shopping centre owners updating their child protection policies,” Ms Johnston said.

“The directive would be for children to stand beside Santa, unless parents or children request to sit on his knee. Shopping centres have duty of care to protect children on premises.”

The Santa debate came to light on social media, with Queensland mothers at odds as to whether the practice should end – provoking a strong reaction from Ms Johnston. Many mothers back her stand.

“We teach kids ... it’s okay to say no if they don’t feel safe,” she said.

“This means not having to sit on anyone’s lap, including family members, if they don’t want to. So why should we make them sit on the lap of a person they don’t know dressed as Santa?”

Ms Johnston emphasises that she does not want to be a grinch and said the simple changes would not spoil the experience for children.

Queensland’s Mark Overell has been a Santa for 24 years and is a Santa trainer for Promoworks, which supplies hundreds of Santas to shopping centres across the state, including mega precincts such as Indooroopilly, Carindale and Garden City. He says all job applicants go through stringent background checks.

“I understand where the fear is coming from but the idea that Santa should be lumped in with everyone else is extreme,” he said.

“Our Santas are trained to do everything by the book. The hands with white glov
es are only allowed on the children’s shoulder or around the tummy, nowhere else. We are very proud of how we have conducted ourselves over the years and have had very few complaints.”

Jenna McCarthy, who is mum to two-year-old Aaliyah said: “I wouldn’t force her to be held by a random stranger so Santa is no different to me. I can understand the fear. We hype up Christmas so much and we give kids the idea that Santa isn’t a stranger. What if they come across someone outside the shopping centre dressed as a Santa?

Social commentator David Chalke believes the debate is ludicrous.

“While I recognise the fine work that Bravehearts does, this is another symptom of our hyper-vigilant, risk adverse society,” he said.

“Surely it’s better to teach children to recognise and report inappropriate behaviour if it occurs than to issue a needlessly draconian blanket ban on any human contact — just in case.”

Give me a break! Kit Kat pulls photo in Pedobear Scare

Pedobear. He's EVERYWHERE. On the Internet, was lurking at Penn State during the Sandusky sex abuse trial, was booted from a Comic-Con and sparked a scare in Oklahoma, and now, he's in a Kit Kat promotion. Give me a break!

Pedobear comparison prompts Nestle to pull Instagram photo for Kit Kat

By Laura Hautala

Nestle took down the inaugural Instagram photo from its Kit Kat Facebook page on Thursday because it featured a person dressed as a bear -- which it soon learned resembled an Internet meme associated with child pornography.

The photograph was supposed to launch Kit Kat’s Instagram page, but users quickly drew a connection between the costumed drummer and the meme known as Pedobear.

Pedobear, depicted on the Internet as a brown cartoon bear striding forward with a goofy grin, became popular in the U.S. on the forum website 4chan around 2005, said Brad Jim, editor of the blog Know Your Meme.

The forum had high-speed traffic and a hard-to-control user base, so posting a drawing of Pedobear on a disturbing thread “began to serve as an early warning sign of child pornography,” Jim said.

Representatives from Nestle Australia, which owns Kit Kat, have said they didn’t know about Pedobear and that the company produced the photo of the costumed drummer itself.

“We had never heard of Pedobear,” a spokeswoman for Nestle told Australia's the Age. “But when the possibility of its similarity to the so-called 'Pedobear' was raised with us, we immediately removed it.”

Representatives from Nestle Australia were not immediately available to comment to the Los Angeles Times on this story.

Twitter users were amused, and some scoffed at Nestle’s naivete. “Listen, Nestle, if you want to use the internet, hire people who understand the internet,” tweeted site user Aaron Howland.

People intentionally dressed up as Pedobear have made real-life appearances, including at a Penn State football game and the Jerry Sandusky trial, according to Know Your Meme.

But since 4chan denizens started using the cartoon to flag illegal postings, its meaning has become less clear. Some people see it as an endorsement of child pornography, and some say it makes light of the issue, Jim said.

“It has reached a different level of meaning, where this is basically a debate starter in the media,” Jim said.
